Towbook has been updated to include new ways to set and manage storage fee calculations. The new features will support companies who have complex rules for vehicle storage, including situations where you have tiered rates and charge different rates for periods of time after a vehicle is placed into storage.
We also made it possible for you to set rates for different types of storage, like indoor and outdoor or secured on unsecured.
These advanced rates are added by going to Settings & Maintenance and clicking on Service & Storage Pricing. Next, click on Service Rates and Add a New Service Rate (see image below).
When the new service rate detail page opens you can give the service item a name (like Tiered Storage Rate), and then select “Storage – Storage Rates” from the Category drop-down. Next, check the box for Tiered Storage Pricing. (see image below).
To set up pricing for each period of time, enter the rate for Day 1 in the top row. This rate can be adjusted for the different vehicle weight classes. Next, click on Add another tier and you can enter the number of days you will charge for the next period of time. Repeat the process until you have pricing set up for each period of time.
